tango Buenos Aires

Touch down in Buenos Aires where our local guide will be waiting to whisk you away to your urban oasis in the heart of the city. You’ll have the feeling of staying with an old friend as you slip off your shoes and enjoy the intimate Legado Mitico, an eleven room boutique hotel housed in a 1920s townhouse in the fashionable area of Palermo.  Spend your time in Buenos Aires getting acquainted with the rich diversity of cultures. The following day a university guide will take you out to visit some of Buenos Aires best sights including the cemetery where Eva Peron’s buried and the colourful painted houses of La Boca.

a hikers paradise

Once you’ve got the hang of Argentina’s rhythm, you’ll jet off to the northwest region of Salta. Once you touch down you’ll head straight out of the city for a couple of days in the countryside. A hiker’s dream, you’ll explore the rainbow coloured canyons and gorges of Las Señoritas and Humahuaca as well as tasting some of Argentina’s best wines near the town of Maimará. Hole up in the pretty Las Marias Boutique in Tilcara for a couple of nights, taking trips out into the wilderness for a wonderful mix of creature comforts and adventure.

foodie heaven

After a couple of days in the secluded wilderness you’ll head back to the fabulous city of Salta for a few nights at the Kkala Hotel. With just six guest rooms, all of a distinctive character of their own and a lovely little courtyard to spend sunny evenings, you’re find a harmonious atmosphere. Salta’s a foody heaven (maybe not for the vegetarians amongst us), so head out to one of the fine parilla’s for a carafe of Argentina’s finest red and your own personal table top barbeque. As always, our local guides will be on hand to show you around the city and give you unbiased advice on the best things to do and see in the city.

into the wild

By now you would have soaked up the atmosphere of the city and with itchy feet, you’ll head down the famous route 44 through the charming villages of Molinos stopping en route to mingle with the local weavers. Enter the stunning Quebrada de las Flechas gorge and arrive at the Patios de Cafayate, your home for the next couple of days. This secluded getaway is set within its own working vineyard and boasts stunning views over the Calchaqui Valley. Once a private house, this hotel has been totally restored, retaining its charm and history. Spend lazy days gently cycling or walking through the vineyards stopping en route for picnics in the sunshine.

the life of luxury

For your last few days of your trip you’ll spend some nights at the House of Jasmines . Located just 20 minutes from Salta within an oasis of eucalyptus trees, this fabulously intimate estancia is a magnificent getaway. Enjoy tasty meals made from organic ingredients from the garden and spend your days walking or horse riding through the spectacular scenery. If you’re feeling adventurous, take ride on a vintage motorcycle, just like Che Guevara.
