Belize's unique vast areas of shallow water contain the only classic tarpon flats outside South Florida and the flats are world renowned for offering the opportunity to site cast to Tarpon 12 months a year. Belize offers fishermen a superb opportunity to achieve the angler's ultimate dream- a Grand Slam! You can cast the lagoons for lady fish or snook; go outside the reef into the deep water for billfish and wahoo. Troll the reef for king fish or barracuda. Jig the bottom for snapper and grouper. The choice is yours. Belize has a variety of options for fishermen including day trips which can be arranged from virtually any beach hotel to multi-day all inclusive packages at specialized fishing resorts.

El Pescador Lodge – Ambergris Caye
These waters contain the only classic tarpon flats outside of South Florida. These fishing grounds stretch for over 200 square miles offering some of the best sight casting in the world for tarpon, permit, bonefish or Jack Crevalle. El Pescador lodge is an intimate, 12-room, one suite hotel set in a colonial style mahogany building with a long verandah overlooking the beach and barrier reef. All rooms have private baths, overhead fans and air-conditioning and are just steps away from our swimming pool adjacent the beach. All rooms face the sea.

Some of the world's best permit fishing can be found in the Port of Honduras region of Southern Belize. This lodge is conveniently located near the town of Punta Gorda and encompasses 470 acres nestled in coastal mountains and rainforest.

Turneffe Flats Lodge – Island Lodge

Located 30 miles offshore this area has some of the best bonefish flats imaginable. This resort allows visitors miles of easy wading flats teeming with schools of fighting bonefish and permit. Great island setting.

Belize River Lodge - Mainland Resort
The Flats, cayes, reef, mangrove channels, Belize River, Sibun River, Manatee River, Black Creek, and several other creeks & lagoons in between are the areas fished from the Lodge in a normal five day fishing package. This is a very large area with a great variety of fishing conditions, fish species, and scenery. Game fish species generally found in this area include permit, bonefish, tarpon, snook, Cubera Snapper, Jacks, Barracuda, Grouper, and others. Visitors can choose packages where they fish from the lodge or from live-a-board ‘motherships’. The Belize River Lodge rests quietly on the lush, green banks of the Belize Olde River.
