Explora Hotel in Torres del Paine National Park

Located in the heart of Patagonia, 400km north of Punta Arenas, Torres del Paine National Park encompasses 242 hectares. At 51°7' latitude south and 79°59' longitude west the park is surrounded by the impressive Paine mountain range. With its unusual mountains, glaciers, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, plus unique flora and fauna, this region is considered among the most beautiful in the world. The park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.

The Hotel
The architecture of the Explora hotels creates an aura of mystery, while showcasing the unfathomable beauty of the natural environment. Strategically set on the shores of Lake Pehoe, the Hotel Salto Chico was conceived as a base for exploration. It features refined comfort for total relaxation and the best equipment for exploring Patagonia. The interior design has been carefully conceived, utilising traditional lenga and cypress woods, plus handcrafted slate and copper accents.

Accommodation includes:

• 2 Rio Paine Rooms (19 m²) with Salto Chico Waterfall view and twin beds
• 6 Salto Chico Rooms (26 m²) with Salto Chico Waterfall view
• 10 Cordillera Paine Rooms (26 m²) with Macizo del Paine view
• 8 Cordillera Paine Rooms with Jacuzzi (26 m²) with Macizo del Paine view
• 4 Exploradores Suites (39 m²) with Macizo del Paine view

Services include a dining room with exceptional cuisine, bar, souvenir shop, international and national direct dialling from the rooms, library and laundry services. The nearby Casa de Banos del Ona has an indoor pool, exercise machines, sauna, massage rooms and open-air jacuzzi.

Explorations
Guests can enjoy a wide range of carefully designed explorations. Five programmes can be chosen daily from a total of 21, selected according to weather conditions, personal preferences, duration and degree of difficulty. On foot, horseback, by van or boat and accompanied by expert guides, you will be astonished by Patagonian nature. Each excursion is operated with a maximum of 10 people per guide and with all the necessary equipment. Details available on request.

Prices include:

• Transfer between Punta Arenas Airport / EXPLORA (departure from Punta Arenas between 1PM and 5PM according to arrival of flights from Santiago. Departure from the hotel between 7AM and 8 AM). Transfer schedules subject to change without prior notice.
• Accommodation on full board basis (4 meals per day, including house wine, spirits and soft drinks).
• Daily explorations in Torres del Paine National Park, with bilingual guides, equipment, boats, horses, vehicles and food (groups no larger than 10)
• Rates are per person and do not include airfares, taxes or tips.

What to take

Waterproof parka and/or windbreaker; weatherproof trousers and thermal underwear; good hiking boots (leather or waterproof material); comfortable gloves; windproof hat or balaclava; sunglasses with safety strap or goggles, lip protector, sunscreen, sport shoes, photographic and/or video camera.
