Amazon rainforest lodges

Ecuador is one of the easiest and best places to visit the Amazon. A short 45 minute flight from Quito takes you to the heart of the Amazon head-waters. From the frontier oil town of Coca, you will be taken by motorised dug-out canoe to one of the following lodges set amongst pristine rainforest:

Napo Wildlife Centre
The newest and most luxurious lodge in Ecuador. The only lodge within Yasuni National Park, built in partnership with an Indian community. Set on the shores of a huge lake, with excellent opportunities to watch wildlife including a tree-tower for birdwatching.

Huaorani Ecolodge
Huaorani Ecolodge, opened in August 2007, provides accommodation for 10 people in a style harmonious with the surrounding environment and the Huaorani culture.

Kapawi Reserve Lodge
The most remote eco-lodge in Ecuador. 20 rustic but comfortable cabins with solar-heated showers. Built in partnership with Achuar native community.

Sacha Lodge
The most accessible and popular lodge in Ecuador. Comfortable twin-bedded huts in native style with private facilities and hot water. Lodge is situated on a tranquil lake and boasts two tree-towers and the only canopy walkway in Ecuador.

Sani Lodge
A more isolated and smaller lodge accommodating only 16 guests on a reserve owned by the local Indian community. Best value in the region.

Selva Lodge
A long-established lodge situated on the beautiful Lake Garzacocha. Rustic thatched native-style huts with private facilities. Accommodates 32 guests.

Yuturi Lodge
This lodge is situated beside the Yuturi tributary of the Napo River. 15 basic thatched huts with private facilities. Suitable for birdwatchers or the more adventurous traveller with a lower budget.
