Ecuador Amazon cruises 2011

Manatee Amazon Explorer is an exclusive floating hotel in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The Manatee is purpose-built for cruises in the rainforest and is the perfect vessel from which to explore the Upper Amazon rivers. Relax with a drink as you float down the river or join a variety of on-shore excursions.

The vessel welcomes up to 30 guests in cabins with private bathroom, hot water, and air-conditioning. There is a cosy restaurant, delicious cuisine, laundry, reading room, inviting bar and lounge area and panoramic terrace - the place to be at sunset.

We offer four or five day cruises usually as part of a tailor-made holiday or longer expeditionary trips. On the guided excursions, with excellent naturalists, you will discover unique plants and animals, go birdwatching, do jungle walks, explore hidden lakes and lagoons, visit indigenous communities and learn about the Amazon. Excellent naturalist guides and crew offer you service that will make your trip an unforgettable experience.

A Manatee cruise gives you the opportunity for a unique journey along the lush upper Napo River, one of the tributaries of the great Amazon River,one of the world's most diverse ecosystems with its fascinating wildlife and stunning scenery.

Itineraries are all year round. Departures are on Mondays and Fridays.

For groups of up to 16 passengers the longer 8 or 10 day expeditions can be arranged. These visit two of the most protected areas of eastern Ecuador, the Yasuní National Park and the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. The 8 day trips depart on Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday itineraries.
