Itinerary

Day 1
Depart Quito. Leave behind snow peaks and mountains, as you enter the Mindo-Nabillo Protected Forest. Arrive at ‘El Pahuma’, an Orchid Reserve, and a privately owned forest of an Ecuadorian family searching for a viable economic alternative to destructive activities such as logging or cattle raising. The reserve protects over 1,500 acres (600 hectares) of tropical montane forest lying between 5,300 feet (1600 meters) and 8,600 (2600 meters) of elevation on the western slope of the Andes.

Over 170 species of orchids have been identified within the reserve, which lies in a region with some of the highest rates of plant endemism in the world. Orchids, bromeliads, heliconias, ferns, vines, mosses and lichens all grow in abundance here, working symbiotically to encourage rainfall and prevent erosion. Continue down the road Calacalí – Pedro Vicente Maldonado and arrive at Arashá Rain Forest Resort.

Enjoy lunch at Arasha, where you will have your choice between El Bosque Restaurant, featuring local and international cuisine or the Hotaru Restaurant with Oriental gourmet cuisine.

After lunch take some time to renew your body and spirit. Choose from a selection of treatments: Facial Treatments, Body Treatments and Special Treatments. Dinner and overnight at Arashá.

Day 2
This morning immerse yourself in the natural surroundings as you select an optional activity such as walking, trekking, excursions or fishing. Lunch at the restaurant of your choice.

Indulge yourself in any of the various options of Spa treatments during the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Arashá.

Day 3
After breakfast, take advantage of the morning to participate in any of the special tours that Arasha has to offer. Tours include ‘Emerald Lagoons’ ‘Laguna Azul,’ the ‘Caoni River’ or the ‘Wonderland chocolate factory’ in Laguna Azul.

Laguna Azul
Enjoy a pleasant walk through tropical rainforest before arriving at a spectacular 135-foot (41 meter) waterfall and natural pool. Surrounded by lush scenery and colorful birds, Laguna Azul is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Ecuador. Return to Quito before lunch. Duration: Three hours.

Caoní River
This morning tour reveals the rainforest at its best. The trail passes through vegetation and wildlife. Situated in the middle of a canyon with warm and clear waters, shaded by ancient trees, the Caoni River is a special attraction. This is a great place for swimming, with magnificent views of the surrounding jungle. Duration: Three hours

Wonderland Chocolate Factory
Guests observe and participate in the original way to prepare chocolate starting with cocoa beans inside Arasha's premises. Taste the delicious tropical fruit chocolate fondue. Return to Quito in the afternoon. Duration: full day.
