Day 1
Depart early this morning from Quito as you head to the northern province of Imbabura, site of the most famous Otavalo Indian Market. Arrive in Otavalo at mid-morning.

Here you will be surrounded by the fascinating and picturesque land of lakes, majestic sierras and terraced farmlands. This is home to the Otavalo Indians, an industrial and enterprising people, whose well-crafted ponchos, embroidered blouses, ceramics, wall hangings, native jewellery and authentic Panama hats can be purchased.

Continue on to the five-star La Mirage, the only Relais & Chateaux property in Ecuador. This beautiful spa is perched on an Andean hillside between the Imbabura and Cotacachi mountains in the city of Cotacachi, also known as the "leather capital" of Ecuador.

You will be taken to your deluxe suite, where a glass of Champagne awaits you prior to enjoying a delicious three course select Spa lunch served in the glass-enclosed Colibri Garden Restaurant.

After lunch, indulge your senses in the unique and elegant La Mirage Spa for any of the following treatments (2 per person):

• Back, Neck & Shoulder
• Reflexology
• Mirage Facial
• Swedish
• Aromatherapy
• Hot Stone Massage
• Herbal Bath Wrap
• Mirage Ecuadorian Volcanic Clay Body Treatment
• A touch by Angels
• Cleopatra's Bath
• Purification Treatment (the latter performed by the Female Shaman)

Later, swim in the solar heated indoor pool, enjoy the Jacuzzi and Eucalyptus Steam Room or just relax and lounge around while listening to soft music. Piano music is provided in the Pandora Bar and a four-course, select à la carte gourmet dinner is available at the main restaurant.

Day 2
After a sumptuous breakfast at the Colibri Restaurant or in the intimacy of your suite, you have the opportunity to participate in any of the various activities that La Mirage offers: horseback-riding into the surrounding hills, outdoor tennis, mountain bikes or for the adventure minded, a hike around the beautiful and nearby Cuicocha Crater Lake.

A three-course select Spa lunch is served at noon, at either of the two restaurants.

The afternoon is, once again, reserved for any of the delightful treatments (2 per person) offered at La Mirage Spa.

Later enjoy piano music in the Pandora Bar followed by a four-course select à la carte gourmet dinner in the main restaurant.

Day 3
After a delicious breakfast, return to Quito.
