It is easy to see frigatebirds breeding in Galapagos (though times vary around the archipelago). The male chooses the place and builds the nest then inflates an enormous throat pouch like a big red balloon to try and attract the attention of a passing female. If one shows signs of interest, he will also shake his head, flap his wings, and let out a strange warbling call until she is either captivated or flies away.
