This tour of Guatemala visits the colourful highland market of Chichicastenango, the beautiful Lake Atitlan surrounded by volcanoes, the unique Mayan sites of Copan in Honduras, a full day in Tikal surrounded by rainforest and wildlife and the tropical lowlands of Rio Dulce. You will experience the colours, traditions and amazing landscapes from volcanoes to jungle and Caribbean coast. There is an ever present rich heritage from pre-Columbian cultures, mainly the Maya (ruined cities, temples and pyramids such as the huge jungle site at Tikal; mystical religious rituals) to the elegance of colonial Antigua and the exuberance of Afro-Caribbean communities.
