Day 5
Morning pick up for a day sightseeing tour to Uxmal. Pick up time: 09:00 am Uxmal is the most important Mayan settlement located on the Puuc Route. Chichen Itza sightseeing tour, Pick up time: 09:00 am.
This is one of the largest and best-preserved sites on the Yucatan peninsula. The pyramid is a calendar with four stairways, a platform at the top and a total of 365 steps. Lunch is included.
After sightseeing in Chichen Itza, you will be transferred by road to Cancun and drop off at Hotel NH Krystal, where you will stay four nights.
One Deluxe room for 4 nights. Continental breakfast included.
This hotel is located in one of the liveliest areas of Cancun which means the beach is not as expansive as some of the other hotels but it is within walking distance of many of the bars and restaurants. Notes
Uxmal (OOSH-mahl) means "'built three times" in the Mayan language, and though its name is a mystery, its beauty is not. As a World Heritage site, it is one of the best restored and maintained ruins in the Yucatan, and certainly one of the most magnificent. Its architecture, some of the most majestic of the Yucatan ruins, is characterised by low horizontal palaces set around courtyards, decorated with rich sculptural elements and details. Recent studies have suggested that Uxmal was the capital of a regional state that developed in the Puuc region between 850 to 950 AD. Other evidence suggests that Uxmal collaborated politically and economically with Chichen Itza, the popular ruin located between Merida and Cancun.
There will also be a visit to the archaeological site of Kabah to admire the Codz-Pop and the western square, among other beautiful constructions.
Lunch included.
