Sample itineraries
Some suggested itineraries for your travels in Peru, ranging from 6 to 15 days in duration. We are happy to adapt these to suit your own interests.
Lima and surrounds
Lima is a vibrant modern city with an historic colonial heart. It is worth spending some time here before travelling to other areas of the country.
Nazca, Ica, and Paracas
The coastal desert is famed for the Nazca Lines and other archaeological treasures. It is also rich in wildlife which can be
seen on the islands near Paracas.
Cusco and Machu Picchu
Cusco is a wondrous place that has changed little since the time of the Incas. It is the gateway to the lost city of
Machu Picchu that has beguiled travellers since its rediscovery in 1911.
Arequipa - the White City
Arequipa is a beautiful Spanish city home to the famous Convent of Santa Catalina. It has a backdrop of snow-capped
volcanoes, and the nearby Colca Canyon is one of the natural wonders of South America.
Puno and Lake Titicaca
Puno is located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. It is noted for its colourful
festivals and folklore, and makes a good location to visit the Uros Indians, who live on reed islands floating on the lake.
Birdwatching
Peru is the most ecologically diverse country on earth and has the world record for numbers of bird species.
Amazon rainforest
Peru is one of the best places to visit the Amazon rainforest. Accommodation is in a range of ecologically-friendly
lodges near wildlife reserves. Alternatively, we can offer cruises on small boats out of Iquitos.
