Machu Picchu

To reach Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas, visitors take a train journey through the spectacular scenery of the Urubamba Valley. You can choose whether to make a day trip from Cusco or to stay in the on-site Hotel Ruinas or in the lovely Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel down in the valley or in hostels in the village of Aguas Calientes and prolong the delights of visiting this unique place. High on jungle-covered hilltops, Machu Picchu was never found by the Spanish conquerors and many parts of the ancient city remain to be discovered. Energetic visitors can climb the heights of the nearby Huayna Picchu for fine photographs of the archaeological wonder and surrounding countryside. The even more energetic can hike the five-day Inca Trail connecting Cusco with Machu Picchu.

Inca Trail (4 days/3 nights)
The Incas were famous for having achieved the most outstanding system of communications, 9,685 kms of well finished roads, linking the Andes. Of these, the best-preserved trail is the one to Machu Picchu.

Hiram Bingham Train - New luxury train linking Cusco and Machu Picchu

Full day tour (Private and shared services)
Transfer from the hotel in Cusco to the railroad station, train-ride to Aguas Calientes at the foot of the Machu Picchu Ruins, transportation by bus to the ruins, guided tour of the Lost City of the Incas. Lunch and in the afternoon return by train to Cusco. Transfer to hotel.

Overnight in Machu Picchu (2 days/1 night)
This experience can be the highlight of your trip. It will allow you to take advantage of an extra day at leisure in the Lost City of the Incas. Explore it on your own, climb Huayna Picchu, watch the sunset or sunrise or hike the old trail to the Gate of the Sun. Option of an unforgettable evenings stay atop the ruins or in the valley town of Aguas Calientes next to the Urubamba river.

Overnight in the Urubamba Valley
Stay one night in the Valley, near the town of Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, Yucay or Pisac before going to Machu Picchu or upon returning to Cusco, combining the Machu Picchu tour with the Sacred Valley, by staying in accommodations in one of the mentioned places.
