Lima - Arequipa - Cusco - Lima

Visit Lima with it's historical centre, then up to the Andes to Arequipa, on to Cusco with trips to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Itinerary

Day 1: UK - Lima
Arrival to Lima, reception and transfer to Sonesta Posada del Inca, Miraflores.

Day 2: Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit Colonial and Modern Lima. This tour includes visits to the Cathedral, Main Square, San Francisco Convent and its Catacombs. Continue to the residential districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and finish at the ocean front to enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel around midday. Free afternoon for personal activities.

Day 3: Lima - Arequipa
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the airport. Flight Lima-Arequipa (1 hour). Reception and transfer to Sonesta Posada del Inca, Arequipa. In the afternoon, visit the city of Arequipa, starting with the Valley of Chilina and the old district of San Lazaro. General view of the city from the Yanahuara Belvedere, the Plaza de Armas and its Cathedral, the cloisters of the Compa�ia Church and Church and Square of the San Francisco, and the extraordinary Santa Catalina convent, which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the 16^th century.

Day 4: Arequipa - Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning transfer to the airport. Flight Arequipa-Cusco (30 minutes). Reception and transfer to the Sonesta Posada del Inca or Casa Andinal. Rest of the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, visit the nearby ruins of Qenqo, Puca-Pucara, Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman. Continuation to the city to visit the Main Square, the Cathedral with its religious Art Museum, the Santo Domingo Church built on top of the Koricancha, temple of the sun during the Inka period. Return to the hotel.

Day 5: Cusco – Machu Picchu - Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Whole day excursion to the ruins of Machu Picchu, including train tickets, bus up to the ruins, entrance ticket, guided tour, lunch. In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco. Reception and transfer to hotel.

Day 6: Cusco – Urubamba Valley - Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. (only Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). Leave Cusco by bus to the village of Pisac, founded during Colonial times, set at the foot of a hill crowned by the remains of an Inca city. In the main square, indians barter their products and artisans from all over the area sell their woven alpaca wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, jewellery, etc. On Sundays it is also the meeting place for Mayors from all the villages in the region, dressed in their traditional costumes to attend morning mass. Lunch in a countryside restaurant. In the afternoon visit Ollantaytambo the only Inca town which is still inhabited, and explore the ruins which tower above it. Return to Cusco and overnight.

Day 7: Cusco - Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. During the morning transfer to the airport. Flight Cusco-Lima (1 hour). Reception and transfer to the Sonesta Osada del Inca, Miraflores . Rest of the day at leisure for personal activities.

Day 8: Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. At the convenient time transfers to the airport and departure from Peru.
