Sipping on a coffee

As soon as you touch down in San Jose, our local guides will be waiting to whisk you away to Finca Rosa Blanca in the heart of coffee country surrounded by misty cloud forests. The perfect place to recuperate from the long flight, you’ll be pampered at this small exclusive retreat outside of San Jose.

The following day you will hike through the lush verdant organic coffee plantations with our knowledgeable guides, learn about the process of roasting and become experts in the art of ‘cupping’ some of the world’s best beans. Our guides will also take you on a hike around the steamy crater of Poas volcano before exploring the waterfalls nearby.

Head to the eco-retreat

Once you’re rested up, we’ll organize a small plane to take you on a scenic flight down to the Osa Peninsula. When you land, you’ll be taken deeper into the pristine private reserve at the eco retreat of Lapa Rios.

In a thatched private cabana perched on a hill, you’ll enjoy incredible views over the lush rainforest and the crashing waves of the ocean below. The next few days are an ideal mix of relaxation and adventure.

Watching humpback whales and dolphins jumping through the waves and taking hikes through the wildlife rich forests. We’ll organise a yoga session and massage before enjoying a margarita and a candlelit dinner while watching the sunset over your own private veranda. Complete bliss.

The call of the wild

You’ll then be whisked off to the dazzling Manuel Antonio National Park, boasting some of Costa Rica’s most picturesque scenery. A favourite destination for nature-lovers and bird-watchers with palm-fringed beaches, scenic gems and rocky peninsulas; it is also home to monkeys, racoons and seabirds on the offshore islets.

You’ll be picked up and taken to the wonderfully luxurious Gaia Hotel. While you’ll have time for sun worshipping, we can also organise a range of activities over the following days. Kayaking around the coves to deserted beaches and excursions into the forest in search of anteaters, three-toed sloths and the elusive jaguar.

If you wish we can organise a afternoon catamaran cruise along this beautiful coastline. With the sail set high catamarans get up a fair old speed, enjoy the breeze on your face and stop en route for refreshing dips, the perfect way to cool off in the heat of the afternoon.

Tip toeing over soft white sand

The last stop of this romantic coastal journey is the Nicoya Peninsula. We will whisk you away for a few days of total and absolute relaxation on secluded white sandy beaches.  You’ll stay in the Punta Islita, a romantic beachfront getaway where you can spend days tip toeing across the beach, mastering the Pacific Ocean swells with surf lessons, snorkeling with exotic fish and nights eating freshly caught Costa Rican seafood.

Return to San Jose to spend the last night at the Hotel Grano de Oro, a converted tropical mansion and oasis from the bustling metropolis before heading home suitable refreshed and sun kissed.
