Atacama & The North

Known as the driest place on earth.

The north of Chile is an arid but beautiful landscape that is protected by a series of national parks housing unusual wildlife.

At the high altitude national park of Lauca you will find among snow-capped volcanoes: vicuñas, condors, vizcachas, guanacos, flamingos and herds of llamas and alpacas, kept by the Aymara Amerindian shepherds. You can explore hidden archaeological remains and colonial Andean churches.

There are many sights and bizarre landscapes we can show you in the region. Driving across the huge expanse of white salt crust of the Atacama salt flats (the third largest in the world) is a surreal experience not to be missed. Our guides will take you to the bubbling geysers of El Tatio, best visited very early in the morning, before hiking around the nearby volcanoes. An early evening visit to the moon like landscape of Valle de la Luna to watch the sunset is magical.

Its clear skies make it great for star-gazing
