Bogotá

The fifth largest city in Latin America and one of the highest cities in the world.

A vibrant modern city set in an Andean valley with a year round fresh spring-like climate making it a comfortable place to start a journey through this colourful land.

Bogotá is the cultural centre of the country and has some of the best museums in Latin America. We recommend the Gold Museum that holds one of the most stunning collections of Pre-Colombian artifacts in the Americas.

Our local Bogotá guides can take you on a walking tour to La Candelaria to explore the narrow cobbled streets, beautifully preserved colonial buildings and other important museums.

If you’re lucky catch one of the free festivals or events taking place in the large Simon Bolivar Park. Our guides can let you know what’s on in the city at the time you’re visiting.

The Zona Rosa is a lovely place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. Some of the best small hotels are located here and it’s got some great cafes and restaurants and lively bars.

For spectacular views across the city, head up on the cable car to Monserrate, particularly good at sunrise and sunset.

There’s plenty to see near to the city including the impressive Salt Cathedral in the mines of Zipaquirá as well as the pretty colonial town of Villa de Leyva.

The only risk is wanting to stay
