The Trip

chaotic capital

Touch down in Mexico City, one of the world’s great metropolis a place where a newcomer will welcome a guide. Ours are the very best at showing beneath the surface of this awe-inspiring city. Benefitting from a year-round spring climate and the knowledge there is always an experience to be had this city certainly stimulates the senses. You can be knocking back tequila in a cantina one minute and visiting an artist’s gallery another, before soaking up the ambience of the city’s archaeological wonders at sunset.  See the museum of Anthropology and learn about the ancient cultures of this ever-fascinating land, before stepping foot in the Cathedral Metropolitana, the largest in the country. Your residence here is the equally well appointed Condesa DF, as you snooze happily for the next day’s adventure.

coastal paradise and whales

Jet off to the peninsula of Baja California and pick up your rental car. Relax in Loreto at the exquisite El Angel Azul before taking on the most fascinating coastal route of Mexico. Look out across the views of Loreto, an area that teems with archaeological wonders and majesty. It’s also a hub of watersports, like diving and snorkelling, and the web of stunning beach-blessed islands beckon you from across the azure waters.

wildlife haven

Our boat envoys will give you an up-close tour of Isla Corondo, the most picturesque of all the islands, where you can spot sea lions and pelicans for endless photo opportunities. Kick back on the beaches of Bahia Luz, before driving, refreshed and revitalised on your way to the 19th-Century French town of San Ignacio. It’s here you’ll go even deeper into finding wildlife moments, as you take an authentic panga boat across the Laguna San Ignacio, maybe catching your own fresh fish lunch on the way. Get your camera ready for your first view of grey whales in their natural environment, and the awe-inspiring grandeur in which they rise from the water.

real mexico

Rest-up before the next day of enchantment, crossing the Sierre San Francisco offering breathtaking views of the Pacific and stunning scenery. One short hike will take you to the rock paintings of the Cochimi Indians. Next stop is the Guerraro Negro, offering a legendary drive to one of Mexico’s virginal lagoons. Meet your skipper who will take you by boat to see the American Gray Whales jumping and playing in the sun-light, making their thunderous splashes in the water, a sound few forget. Linger to take in the view, before driving to La Paz, and feasting on its mouth-watering array of Mexican cuisine, washed down with cold cervezas and tasty tequila to toast your holiday.
