To the east of the Andes, a vast expanse of windswept plains make up Patagonia. At its edge on the Atlantic coast is the Valdés Peninsula which teems with marine wildlife.
Watch as orcas chase seal pups, colonies of penguins waddle along the beach and elephant seals compete for female attention by boxing with their bulbous noses. Between September and November Southern Right Whales come near to shore on their annual migration a sight not to be missed.
After bracing hikes around the peninsula, warm up with a cup of tea and a slice of cake in a Welsh tea shop and meet descendants of the pioneers who came to find a new life over 200 years ago.
