taking you higher
Who says you need to take months to see the best of this continent’s cities? Throw the rulebook out the window, and go on a trip to see South America with all some of its most mouth-watering thrills packed into a few days. We’ll show you what it looks like from the clouds on your first day in the much loved ‘Marvellous City’, Rio De Janeiro. You’ll be taken to limits with a cable car taking you to the Sugar Loaf mountain to see the views of the great world metropolis stretch from city, to beach to rainforest. Rio is simply one of the most fascinating cities on the planet, packed with colour, vibrancy, and people dancing samba on the beaches that stretch the breadth of the city’s coastline. And on the third day we’ll take you even higher with a morning tour of Christ The Redeemer statue, the landmark that is as iconic as the city itself, where you’ll see this city from a different perspective, and one you’ll never forget. During your time in Rio de Janerio you will stay at the Porto Bay located right on Copacabana Beach.
devil’s view of the waterfalls.
They say there is no greater experience of natural beauty than a glimpse of the famous Iguacu Falls, the place native Indians believed to be the mouth of one of its gods. Fly to Iguaçu and stay at La Cantera. We take you to both the Brazilian side and the Argentinian side of these great waterfalls, made famous in the film The Mission, as Robert De Niro teeters over the edge while strapped to a crucifix. Fortunately you’ll be spared the ideal, but the experience is equally as spiritual. It’s on the Brazilian side that you can see the falls in all their totality, but cross over to Argentina and it’s here you can be up close-and-personal, so close you can almost touch the water. One of the biggest thrills is walking over the suspended platform that traverses The Devil’s Throat, a gurgling, spitting, rampaging flurry of water so named because it sounds like the deafening roar of what the Gates of Hell are feared to be.
in the Paris of South America.
Rio is earthy, bold and brash. But it’s in Buenos Aires you’ll find the cosmopolitan vibe of fashion, art and tango. This place is the next stop on the agenda and by the evening of your visit, you’ll be dancing the great steps yourself, alongside the city’s most eloquent dancers. Stay at the wonderful Casa Calma. There is no dance more romantic and intense than this, and some say few cities. By day you’ll be given the Four Balconies Tour of a city so you can get under the skin of this great metropolis, from the balcony where Evita spoke to the masses, to the graveyard where graves are built as big as houses. But it’s not just architecture that wows the senses. The grand planes of the Estancia is the next stop on this tour, where you’ll come up close-and-personal with real life Gauchos, South America’s answer to cowboys, deep in the Argentine outback. Ride alongside and even sample a polo match in the great expanse of Pampas, the lands that make up the Argentine countryside.
