The Trip

Day 1: Ushuaia – Board the Antarctic vessel and sail along the Beagle Channel
Day 2: Cape Horn – Visit the legendary Cape Horn
Day 3: Drake Passage: Cross the Drake Passage and enjoy onboard lectures
Day 4: South Shetlands: Arrive and visit a penguin colony
Day 5: South Shetlands: Explore the area around Fildes Bay and fly back to Chile
Day 6: Punta Arenas: Transfer to the airport for onward flight

Day 

Your journey starts in Ushuaia where you will board the your Antarctic vessel and set sail along the Beagle Channel towards Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world. Explore the area and then continue towards Cape Horn. Enjoy a relaxed evening meal on board.

Day 2

After crossing Nassau Bay overnight you will wake up to spectacular views over Cape Horn. After breakfast if the weather permits you will board zodiacs and step foot on this rarely visited island. Back on board you will continue to sail over the Drake Passage, named after Sir Francis Drake.

Day 3

Continue crossing the Drake Passage en route to King George Island on the South Shetlands Islands. Along the way you will have the opportunity to spot many sea birds including petrels and albatrosses as well as different species of whale. An exciting program of lectures and presentations by experts will help you gain plenty of knowledge of the geology and wildlife.

Day 4

As you cross into the Antarctic Convergence you will notice the environment changes dramatically. Here you will spot your first icebergs and get your first glimpse of the white continent. Reach the South Shetland Islands and sail through the spectacular bays whilst spotting sea birds, penguins, whales and plenty of seals. In the afternoon you will board zodiacs to visit a large penguin colony.

Day 5

When you reach King George Island you will disembark at Fildes Bay and explore the area with your guides. This includes visitng the Chilean base Frei and the Russian Base Bellingshausen. In the afternoon you will board your flight to Punta Arenas in Chile and transfer to the hotel for the night. Please note that the evening meal is not provided in Punta Arenas but there are plenty of good places to try.

Day 6

Today is free to explore. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
