Chile

A long narrow country with over 2,500 miles of coastline

With our 35+ years' experience in designing unique holidays to Chile, we can show you the best destinations to see within this wonderful country.

The two main landmarks are the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountain chain, which run the entire length of the country.

This vast length makes Chile a country of contrasts, from the stunning scenery of the Atacama Desert, the beautiful green of the wine-producing central valley, the lakes, rivers, volcanoes and forests of the south and the fjords and challenging ice fields of Patagonia. It’s also got some of Latin America’s best national parks like Torres del Paine.

This is a country which could have been designed specifically for anyone who likes outdoor adventures. Using our local Chilean guides, trek, horse ride, raft and fish in the wonderfully rugged scenery of both the pristine wilderness of Patagonia or the crimson desert scenery of the Atacama Desert. There really is no limits to the activities on offer during a Chile holiday.

For the less adventurous, cycle around vineyards, picking grapes and trying some of Chiles best wines, or visit the lively historical port towns like Valpariso.

Three fascinating islands are found in the Pacific Ocean: Easter Island, with its world famous mysterious statues; Robinson Crusoe, named after the man who was shipwrecked and renowned for its unique natural attractions; Chiloé, a charming enclave in the South Pacific with interesting architecture and full of myths and natural beauty.

Throughout the whole of Chile we have selected some of the best hotels and estancias located in fantastic positions next to waterfalls, deserts, mountains and forests offering some awe inspiring views.

When to go:

This very much depends on the area you visit. For the heartland, anytime between October and April is good. The cooler and more pleasant time to visit the north is between June and September. The Chilean summer months of November to March is best for Patagonia and the south.

All our tailor made Chilean holidays are individually designed, but as a guide we can arrange a 12 day itinerary £3,500 including flights.
