From city to the Pacific

Touch down in brilliant Santiago, a feast for the senses, and arrive at the wonderful Casa Bueras  hotel. The capital of Chile wows with colonial grandeur, pristine boulevards and a population of people who are chilled by day, and lively by night but always friendly. Look around you and you’ll see this city is one of Latin America’s best kept secrets overlooked by a circle of snow-capped mountains. Our guides will help you get under the skin of this charming city, explore lively barrios, colourful art galleries and a buzzing cafe culture, just the right way to ease you into your South American adventure.

To the coast

Next stop Valparaiso, fast-becoming the next trendy town on the continent to visit, likened to the faded grandeur of Havana. You’ll be spending the next couple of nights at the cosy Zero hotel. Go on a photo safari as you gaze down the cobbled streets to the harbour, stand in the city centre, then look back on the mansions clinging to the hills that rise grandly above. You’ll be snapping non-stop at the vast houses that overlook the Pacific Ocean here. By night mix with the hedonistic art crowds, who have always come to this city in droves and give it its undying charm. Sip on Chile’s world-famous wine in the town that was once the home of one of the finest poets in the Spanish language, Pablo Neruda.

Drink the finest Malbec

Next we whisk you to Mendoza, the wine capital of South America, that produces an abundance of fine wines, and renowned for the best Malbec on the planet. En-route we’ll take you through the stunning landscape around Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America. You’ll arrive in Mendoza by evening ready to sleep in a bed fit for royalty at the boutique Club Tapiz just outside the city. You’ll be shown the lush vineyards that sit in the lap of the stunning Andean mountain range; wine experts will guide you through tastings of some of the choicest vintages. You can choose to carry on into the night, or rest-up for the next day’s adventure activities: cycling, or horse riding through the sweeping vineyards themselves.

In the Paris of South America

After a couple of days of indulgence you’ll jet off to Buenos Aires and stay at the fantastic Legado Mitico. Let us guide you through this spectacular city where you’ll find the cosmopolitan vibe of fashion, art and tango. Take a private lesson and by the evening of your visit, you’ll be dancing the great steps yourself, alongside the city’s most eloquent dancers. There is no dance more romantic and intense than this, and some say few cities. By day you’ll be given the private tour of the city, so you can get under the skin of this great metropolis, from the balcony where Evita spoke to the masses, to the graveyard where graves are built as big as houses.

Local life

The grand planes of the Pampas in the Argentine outback are the next stop on this tour staying at the estancia La Bamba de Areco, where you’ll come up close-and-personal with real life Gauchos, South America’s answer to cowboys.  Learn to ride alongside them or sample a polo match in the great expanse of Pampas. During your stay you’ll be treated to lashings of fine Argentinian wine and hearty home cooked cuisine while listening to the folklore stories from the locals.
