Casa Real at Santa Rita is a historic boutique hotel located on the Santa Rita Estate within the Maipo Valley, Chile. It was originally the summerhouse of the winery’s founder and later converted into a hotel in the mid-1990s. The hotel is situated in a 40-hectare park designed by French landscape gardener Guillaume Renner. The estate is known for its stunning landscapes, blending French, English, and Italian styles.
Casa Real offers 16 elegantly decorated rooms with views of the park or inner courtyard. There are two categories, Casa Real Suites rooms with independent living areas and Casa Real Rooms.
Enjoy fine dining with a selection of wines from the Santa Rita vineyard. The salons and dining rooms preserve the mansion’s traditional heritage. Facilities include free parking, WiFi, sauna, pool, and bicycles for guests. Guests can also enjoy tours of the Santa Rita winery and vineyard, visit the Andean Museum, and exploring the park’s sculptures, fountains, and box hedge mazes.
Santa Rita is steeped in rich cultural heritage that intertwines Chilean history, winemaking traditions, and pre-Columbian culture. The estate played a role in Chile’s fight for independence. Bernardo O’Higgins and 120 soldiers famously hid in the cellars of Santa Rita after battling the Spanish army. Archaeological findings at the vineyard include tombs from the Llolleo culture, dating back to 500 AD. The site was once traversed by the Qhapag Ñan, an ancient Inca road.
The Andean Museum on the estate showcases over 2,000 artifacts from pre-Columbian and post-conquest Chile. The estate’s buildings, parks, and warehouses were declared historical monuments in 1972. Santa Rita is more than a winery; it’s a living testament to Chile’s vibrant history and culture.
