Caribbean Coast

For some of the best tropical beaches in South America, with rainforest backdrops, deserted sandy coves and pirates lairs.

Most will start exploring the Caribbean coast from the beautiful city of Cartagena with a possible visit out to the islands of Rosario.

Further up to the north you’ll come to the tropical port town of Santa Marta which is well worth some time to explore. Just outside in a nearby bay you’ll find the once sleepy fishing village of Tanganga now a scuba dive mecca. If you’re looking to dive or learn how to dive then this is a great place to try. Try some of the fresh seafood served up in the places along the beach.

One of the highlights of a journey in Colombia is the Tayrona National Park. On a holiday here you will enjoy the wild scenery of palm-fringed deserted beaches, cliffs that plunge into the sea and coral reefs to snorkel. Monkeys can be seen swinging in the trees and Iguanas resting and enjoying the sunshine. Our selected lodges are rustic but set in wonderful surroundings. Swim, snorkel, walk and meet the local indigenous tribes.

A very different flavour to the highlands
