Start in the high capital

You’ll wake-up in the far flung reaches of Colombia’s colonial capital. Bogota is one of South America’s gems. Your stay at The Hotel de la Opera is a source of inspiration alone, surrounded by eccentric artefacts from bygone times. It’s a place that was once the literary  epicentre of the city, and played a part in the country’s move for independence.

Step out the doorstep and you’ll be in the shadow of the city’s famous cathedral and Capitol building, as we take you on a tour beginning in La Candelaria. It’s a barrio that exudes elegance and stately homes, each boasting iron windows and wooden doors. Our guides will show you the secret places even the locals don’t know.

Live in wildest moments

Go deeper into Colombia’s awe-inspiring history as we take you to Leticia, the town which sits on the fringe of the Amazon river, and one of it least touristy entrance-points, packed with natural wonders from the great rivers. Stay for the next few days at the Marasha Reserve Lodge. One of its great treats is a local brew of ‘chuchuhuaza’ an Amazonian aphrodisiac.

The park is home to 6 different species of crocodile, and 150 other kinds of water-loving animals. This wilderness is a mass of raw nature, but our local guides know it as their lifelong home and can show you the best spots to see animals you have never even heard about. Learn about the Amazon tribes at local museums, then see it lived out for real in nature’s surroundings.

Get close to jungle life

Head on to Nuqui, a jungle wonderland, brimming with lodges, river beaches and waterfalls, where you can bathe in crystalline waters that tumble from heights that seemingly stretch to the sky. Our guide will take you through this intricate network of waterways and to secret beaches that line the shores of this river.

During the tour you’ll sleep in the shadows of nature at our handpicked selection of eco-lodges. The El Cantil eco-lodge is poised on the fringes of a natural wonderland, where you can spot a rich abundance of pelicans that linger beside streams that weave their way to the ocean. Take a dip in the bubbling natural springs before you embark on boat trip to see the most mighty creatures of all, the great whales.
