Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River is a luxury eco-lodge located in the Guanacaste mountain range of northern Costa Rica. Only one hour from Liberia International Airport. Set within a vast private reserve of forests, canyons, and geothermal landscapes, the hotel is centred around the unique Rio Perdido, a naturally heated thermal river formed by volcanic activity. The property combines adventure, wellness, and sustainability in a secluded setting that feels far removed from civilization.
Accommodation consists of three bungalow categories designed to blend with the surrounding forest. East Bungalows offer 42 m² of living space with elevated terraces, hammocks, and views of local wildlife. Centre Bungalows provide 69 m² of indoor and outdoor living space with floor-to-ceiling windows, open-air showers, and immersive nature views. The newest West Bungalows, opened in 2024, feature nearly 88 m² of space, with outdoor soaking tubs supplied with mineral or thermal water, and expansive forest vistas. Accessible bungalows are also available for guests with disabilities.
Room amenities include air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, minibars, coffee and tea facilities, luxury Costa Rican bath products, hairdryers, safes, and private terraces. Depending on room category, guests may also enjoy outdoor showers, projectors, large-screen televisions, hammocks, yoga mats, and spacious lounge areas.
Dining at Rio Perdido focuses on fresh local ingredients sourced from nearby farms whenever possible. The restaurant serves creative cuisine inspired by Costa Rican traditions and features panoramic views, while the bar offers international beverages alongside signature cocktails crafted with local influences.
The resort is renowned for its adventure and wellness offerings.
