The Hacienda Cusin was founded in 1602 and in 1990 the English owner converted it into a “country house” with a 40 acre complex and a valley farm.
The mountains of Cotocachi, Mojanda and Imbabura dramatize the green landscape and Laguna San Pablo reflects the scene.
Its guestrooms, suites and garden cottages each have kiva fireplaces, beamed ceilings, furnishings of antique reproduction and Indian crafts, private bathrooms and come with garden and mountain views.
7 acres of perennial gardens with 58 species of plants attract many species of birds. Activities include trails to walk and hills and mountains to climb, mountain biking, horseback riding, squash court, and visits to nearby villages with weavers, leather craftsmen, wood carvers and hat makers.
