city in the clouds

You touch down in Quito, nestling in the Andes, to stay at the Patio Andaluz, in a quiet area of the city. Our local guide will show you around the Spanish colonial centre, which is a cultural World Heritage site; you will see baroque churches, lively street markets and people watch in a quiet plaza.

enchanted isles

The wonderful yacht Reina Silvia wouldn’t look out of place in Monte Carlo and it lives up to the image projected by the fact it’s named after a queen. It’s even been host to Hollywood royalty with Brad, Angelina and family cruising the islands aboard.  Landing in the enchanted isles you will soon be paddling through a quiet mangrove lagoon an important nursery site for turtles, rays and sharks. Each day you visit at least two islands and there are plenty of opportunities for water based activities. The cruise visits everything from small islands like Rábida to the largest, Isabela. If you want to find out what is being done to protect the unique environment where better to learn about preservation on these islands than the Research Station named after the islands most famous explorer Charles Darwin. See for yourself one of the programs designed to increase the numbers and reintroduce to the wild one of the islands best known species the Giant tortoise.

creature comforts

You will walk among colonies of nesting seabirds and watch the dance of the blue-footed boobies on Española or Seymour. Hopping to other islands you’ll get the chance to snorkel with reef fish, sea lions, turtles and even penguins and take a dinghy ride into sea caves. One of the highlights will be Fernandina where thousands of marine iguanas congregate to warm up in the sun. It is non-stop action in the day but all the creature comforts at night, with an attentive crew and the Reina Silvia has some of the best guides in the region and they are more than happy to share their extensive knowledge with you giving instructive briefings and top tips for the best way to get the most out of your wildlife encounters while lessening your impact on this fragile ecosystem. It is truly a trip of a lifetime.
