Colonial gem
Arrive in Guatemala city and transfer straight to the pretty town of Antigua. Antigua is one of the most idyllic cities in the world, boasting Spanish colonial architecture, pristine parks, sensational food and a horizon shaped by its surrounding view of by spectacular volcanoes. Roam through the cobblestone streets with our local guide to find fascinating museums brimming with local woodcrafts. Stay in the most well-appointed hotel Meson de Maria.

Rest-up before your cycling adventure through vividly-coloured Mayan villages, coffee plantations and colonial ruins that sit in the awe-insipring shadow of Antigua’s towering volcanoes. The next day delve further into this adventure paradise, as our guides take you to the Pacaya National Park for a hike up the active volcano. Gaze down at the bubbling lava in the crater below, then bike down the slopes and foothills of the volcano for the ultimate adrenalin buzz.

Local life
Step-back to a bygone time as you visit the shimmering glory of Lake Atitlan, blessed by mountain Mayan villages where locals still wear their traditional dresses. The lake is a natural wonder, 50 square miles of deep, crystal blue water, formed by volcanic disruption 100,000 years ago, the lake shimmers in a mountain valley. Your home for the next two nights will be the Hotel Atitlan.

During your stay you will take part in a number of excursions from zipping across the lake in kayaks, visiting local markets and Mayan villages and cycling adventures. On the way back to Guatemala City you will stop by the famous Chichicastenango market, well known for its unusual mixture of the Catholic and Maya religions. Maya priests make pilgrimages from distant villages to hold ceremonies and make offerings to their gods inside the Catholic church.

Ancient ruins
Lastly you will fly to Flores to visit the ancient Mayan site of Tikal. it is a sprawling complex of more than 3,000 structures. The ruins of Ceibal, Aguateca, and Yaxha make this the heartland of the Maya, and the most extravagant and significant site in of its kind the world.

Explore beneath the surface to uncover ruins shrouded by dense forest overgrowth in Peten, which contain 800 species of trees, 57 species of reptiles, and 500 species of birds, all in the spectacular backdrop of the Emerald forest. You’ll be staying at the Bolontiku Hotel for the next few days as you explore the area before returning back to Guatemala City for your flight home.v
