Riviera Maya

One of the best ways to complete a holiday in Mexico is some time at the beach on the Riviera Maya.

We would suggest steering clear of the high rise destination of Cancun and head down to one of the more secluded destinations further down the coast.

Apart from lazy days enjoying the wonderful stretches of beach it’s also one of the best places for diving, snorkelling and swimming among brightly coloured fish in the warm turquoise waters. If you’re an avid fisherman you would definitely need a bigger boat (think aircraft carrier) to land one of the regions regular visitors, the whale shark which is the biggest fish on the planet. We can organise trips to swim alongside these gentle giants, don’t forget your waterproof camera or no one will believe you when you say “it was this big”.

The quiet ruins of Tulum which is on the coast is situated in an idyllic site on a cliff overlooking a palm-fringed beach with lots of caves and canyons to explore, not a bad place to be stationed if you were a Mayan priest!

We have a range of places to stay in the towns and quaint fishing villages from high-end five star hotels to simple rustic hotels located in beautiful locations. We avoid the use of bland chain hotels and opt for properties that have something different about them.

Be prepared for some serious R & R
