The Camino Real is housed in a former convent of Santa Catalina. With 91 rooms on two floors, built-in 1576, it is a grand property, meticulously restored to retain its former grace.
Spanish Baroque architecture and authentic colonial touches will take you back in time. Walk down long tiled corridors with their fading original frescoes or discover the several sun-splashed courtyards and flower-filled patios and gardens.
The rooms are generally large with high beamed ceilings, stucco walls, queen or double beds, and large modern bathrooms with walls of beautiful Mexican tiles. All rooms are tastefully decorated with native weavings and crafts.
