One of only two lodges located within the Yasuni National Park this lodge is dedicated to preserving and blending with the stunning jungle. The lodge has 20 exclusive spacious and comfortable cabins are all equipped with verandas to give stunning views out into the pristine rainforest.
Napo Wildlife Centre is one of the best eco-lodges in the Ecuadorian Amazon basin. Located deep within Yasuni National Park, accessible only by dug-out canoe, community-owned and so profits are used for preservation of the pristine rainforest. The lodge is perched next to the picturesque Añangucocha Lake. Its small number of rooms means that visitors have excellent chances of spotting some of the many animals living in the forest. Over 500 species of bird have been recorded, as well as numerous monkey species, tamarins, tapirs, sloths, jaguars (rarely seen), caimans and lizards. The cabins are spacious with views of the lake, hot showers, and ceiling fans.
Expect a truly authentic Amazon experience with a touch of luxury, an exquisite location, world-class guiding, and a wealth of raucous wildlife. Eight of the cabins are suites, built on stilts over the lagoon and complete with private jacuzzis and a lakefront site.
The indigenous community use a sustainable eco-tourism model, with an advanced wastewater management system to maintain the lagoons, as well as solar panels, industrial batteries and silent generators to provide energy efficiently and with minimal environmental impact.
The local Añangu community, who helped build the lodge, accompany you on excursions into the jungle and act as your naturalist guides. Head to clay licks teeming with macaws, parrots and myriad other birds, or climb the steps to the top of a 36-metre tower built around a giant Ceiba tree. Here you can observe flocks of colourful birds as they take refuge at sunset above the canopy. Night walks and canoe rides are a truly magical experience – caiman eyes, owl monkeys and other rare mammals appear.
