Boquete & The Chiriqui Highlands

The highland area is the heart of Chiriqui, home to Panamas only volcano and extending from the mountains of La Amistad Park to the misty cloud forests of Boquete and Volcan.

A diverse combination of; rainforest, lush emerald green meadows, springs, rivers, waterfalls, high mountain lakes, coffee plantations, vegetable and flower farms, dairy farms, racehorse and cattle ranches, make up this wonderful landscape.

It is also one of the country’s top destinations for nature lovers. Several hundred bird species have been identified in this area including the resplendent Quetzal, one of Central America’s most exotic birds.

The charming mountain communities of Boquete and Volcano are located at the foothills of the Barú volcano with a cool climate that’s ideal for cultivation of coffee, citrus fruits and flowers.

Using the towns as a base our guides can take you on numerous activities including; hiking up the craters, mountain biking, climbing, canopy tours, and rafting. For the less adventurous, Boquete offers natural hot springs and miles of well marked hiking trails to explore the wonders of the cloud forest.

We have selected some wonderfully rustic mountain lodges and luxury hotels in both Boquete and Volcan.
