Punta Del Este

A glamorous beach resort used by the rich and the famous

Beach holidays don’t come much more chic than at Punta del Este which sits on a small peninsula around 100 miles down the coast from Montevideo, surrounded by pine forests and white sandy beaches. In the summer holidaymakers from Argentina and Brazil descend on the town but out of season its quieter and you’ll have the beaches to yourself.

La Mansa, to the south, has calm waters ideal for swimming and a great place to watch the sun go down. The northern extensive beach of Playa Brava is favoured by surfers and is where the young movers and shakers head to.

Wander down the Gorlero Avenue which is lined with boutique shops, galleries and restaurants offering mouth-watering cuisine.

If you’re looking for more than sunbathing, sipping champagne and mingling with the elite then we can organise some fishing, surfing lessons and sailing trips. A visit to the small island of Gorriti which has deserted beaches and an 18th century fortress is well worth the visit, as well as Isla de Lobos, home to a colony of sea lions.
