Jungles and sleepy cities
Touch down in Manaus, the jungle city in the heart of the mighty Amazon, and the gateway to your great adventure. Spend a night at the Juma Ópera Manaus and explore this fascinating city before heading into the Amazon proper at the luxury Anvilhanas Lodge.
During your stay at the lodge you will explore this pristine region of the Amazon with the help of local and naturalist guides. Take jungle hikes, bird watching adventures, canoe rides through the Amazonian creeks and flooded forest, fishing trips and visits to the local Tiririca community to learn about their way of life.
Return to the comfortable lodge in the evening for relaxed evening or nocturnal hikes and wildlife observations trips. You will also enjoy typical regional cuisine during your stay.
Rich wildlife encounters
Return to Manaus for your flight to Cuiaba, the gateway to the Pantanal, Brazil’s unspoilt wetland paradise, teeming with wildlife. Spend the night at the Gran Odara Cuiaba before heading down the famous Transpantaneira to the Araras Lodge.
Some say the Pantanal boasts an even more impressive array of wildlife than the Amazon, and a place many Brazilians prefer to keep secret. It’s here you’ll see one of the greatest concentration of flora and fauna on the planet, and the world’s largest wetlands, in an area that’s 20 times the size of the Everglades in Floridas.
During the next few days you will take part in many activities in the wetlands. Scale the observation tower to see the sunset and homing birds, explore the rich wildlife by safari vehicle, horses or on foot and canoe through the mangroves in search of giant otters.
You will also visit a neighbouring cattle ranch, owned by a family for many generations to enjoy lunch and a hike or horse ride through the open plains. Each night you will return to the comfortable lodge for delicious food and to share stories with other guests. It’s also an incredible place for star gazing.
The pristine Amazon
Last, but certainly not least, you will fly to Alta Floresta, another region of the Amazon. Here you will be taken to the wonderfully luxurious Cristalino Jungle Lodge. Here on the lip of the Cristalino River, the jungle is at your disposal.
Again, with the help of local and naturalist guides you will explore this very different part of the jungle. Go swimming, hiking or on bird watching safaris, where you’ll find the mighty crimson macaws waiting to swoop through the air. Climb to the top of the world up carefully crafted observation towers, and feel like the king or queen of all you survey as you gaze down at the endless treetops, and soaring birdlife below. Return back home with unforgettable memories and stories to tell.
