Septimo Paraiso is located near the village of Mindo in the cloud forest around one and a half hours from the capital, Quito. The lodge consists of twenty two comfortable en-suite rooms decorated in an old country style. The lodges own spring creates hot water used in each of the rooms as well as the spring water pool and Jacuzzi. It also features a spacious solarium area.
The lodge certainly lives up to its eco and sustainable credentials. Since their inception in 2001 they have reforested over 80 hectares of land back into cloud forest. The have also been working with the Rainforest Alliance for more than three years.
The surrounding cloud forest is a protected area and has one of the largest bird counts in the northwestern area of Pichincha with over 320 species of birds. Pumas, howler monkeys, spectacled bears, coati, armadillos, sloths and deer have also been observed in the region.
