The extraordinary Sachatamia Lodge is a privately-owned ecological reserve around 1 hour and a half from Quito.
It covers 300 acres of mountain cloud forest at an altitude of 1700m. Sachatamia has the privilege of being located next to the protected forests of Mindo and therefore offers a unique diversity of flora and fauna which is being protected by the areas ecological tourism policy.
The country house is constructed of wood and offers a maximum of comfort and excellent cuisine. In Sachatamia, guests may walk through a natural subtropical jungle, pass pristine rivers and discover a variety of endemic trees, plants and wildflowers. The highlight of each stay in Sachatamia will be bird watching of over 100 different species.
