Mexico

Mayan legacies, colonial cities, outdoor adventures, vast landscapes of desert, forest and mountain and hospitable people make Mexico one of Latin America’s most popular holiday destinations

Mexico is much more than the populated modern cities of Mexico City and Cancún. Head out into the countryside and you will be met by dramatic scenery unvisited by many tourists. Mexico’s spectacular coastline and rich tropical waters are perfect for those you want beach time and water sports. Mexico has fascinated film makers for years and its been the location not just for many an old western but for feel good holiday movies, swashbuckling adventures and epic romances. Our bespoke Mexico holidays can be anything you wish them to be.

Delve deep in Mexico’s fascinating cultures and you’ll find cultural gems left from their indigenous, Mayan and colonial past.

Your tailor-made adventure begins in Mexico City, one of the world’s great city founded by the Aztecs, and then conquered by the Spanish now a metropolis to explore the culinary delights, boutique shopping as well as world class museums and ancient temples.

One of the world’s great train rides is here in the north through Copper Canyon which is much much larger than the Grand Canyon. For nature lovers the Baja California peninsula is unbeatable for marine life and whale-watching. The beaches are undeniably world class but the sea is not just for sitting next to, try surfing in Puerto Vallarta or scuba diving at Sian Ka’an Ecological Reserve. Or if you like your water a little less salty dive through the eerie caverns of a cenote.

Stunning accommodation away from the crowds, expert guides and unique excursions are just some of the elements that make up a Select Latin America Mexico holiday.  Let us create a bespoke trip for you.

When to go:

Ideal travel times differ dependent on region as Mexico is so vast it has many different micro climates. Rainy season is May to October though the north is much drier all year, rain in the south tends to be only for a few hours late in the day then the sun returns. Mexico City can get cold in winter but the coast stays warm all year. Watch out for hurricane season on the Caribbean around October.

Busy festivals are Day of the Dead (early November) and Semana Santa (Easter). Probably best to avoid spring-break when North American students head south en masse.

All Mexico holidays are individually designed, but as a guide, we can arrange 10 days itinerary from £3,500 including flights.
